Hi guys! Danny here, I was asked a few times about
aloe vera black spots or Leaf spots So I will  share to you my take on the aloe vera black spots  Based on my experience and from reading published research documents. If you observed, the aloe vera
plants in my videos, even the older videos, Almost all of them have no black spots Aloe vera is one of the few plants that has no pests Aloe vera is not a pesticide and cannot be used as a
pesticide but a healthy aloe vera plant is pest resistant You can even find aloe vera sold in
powdered form as immune support to other plants   But not as a pesticide I have more than 2,000 aloe vera plants And still it is difficult to find one plant with black spots I only experienced
black spots many years back when my garden was   Still at the roof deck of my house. So, for this
video, I will intentionally make some black spots   I punctured some of the leaves of this aloe vera
plant with a toothpick and then normally, this   Plant will heal these wounds and the scars will become black spots After a week, the leaf wounds are turning into brown spots And in a few more weeks these brown spots will become black spots Black spots usually happen with the Chinensis
variety and very seldom with the barbadensis   The reason behind is that the Chinensis variety has
thinner and softer leaf rind But, that of barbadensis is thicker and harder This means that bugs and insects, if there are, can only bite off the chinensis variety Even if you Google aloe vera black spots
most of the images shown are of aloe vera chinensis And a few other aloe species Another thing I observed is that black spots usually happen to   Aloe vera plants placed indoor or those placed in
partially shaded areas and not so much with those   Aloe vera plants placed in full sun Aloe vera plants placed indoor or in shaded areas Tend to have softer leaf rinds compared with those plants
placed in full sun So how does black spot happen  Aside from the pathogens that causes havoc in
aloe vera farms, although they rarely happens   I will only talk about common causes of
black spots in aloe vera as house plants   Some bugs and insects that like to stay
in aloe vera plants will not actually   Eat the plant but they leave some substances
behind that are food for the ants and mites So while these ants and mites eat those substances
that stuck on the leaf they may eventually scratch

Off the leaf of the aloe vera plant then the
aloe vera plant releases its latex and gel to   Heal itself which will turn brown and black later
similar to what happened to the leaves I punctured   To avoid this, rid off the plants with ants and mites Or try moving your plants far from where it was before. Black spots also happen when the
leaves are punctured or scratched by the spikes   Of the plant. This happens when your plants
are crowding in one pot or when your pots are   Too close to each other. This can happen to both
barbadensis and chinensis varieties Even though the leaf rinds of barbadensis are thick, their
spikes are really sharp That it can puncture or cut their leaves Regular separation of aloe
vera pups and regular harvesting of the leaves   Will not only make the plant grow big faster, but
will also avoid one of the causes of black spots   Other causes of black spots are chickens That pick bugs and insects that are on the softer part of the leaves and eventually hurt the leaves in the process Chickens also love to pick the aloe vera plant And that I don’t know why I have many friends who told me That they cannot grow   Aloe vera outdoor because their chickens will
destroy the plant So if you have chickens Keep  them away from the plant I hope you learned something Thank you very much for watching
