Can we use MSG on Aloe vera as fertilizer? Welcome to the Aloe vera Garden. Some videos on YouTube show the use of
MSG on plants including Aloe vera. All of them that I know of, showed positive results. This made me curious and want to try. This MSG is probably the most
popular brand in the world. MSG is made of Glutamic acid and sodium. Glutamic acid contains nitrogen, amino acid,
and a chelating agent beneficial to plants. But I don’t know how much nitrogen is in MSG. Would it be enough to help the plant grow? The sodium part of MSG – the salt, if used too much, Can also lead to soil salinity
issues, which can harm plant health. So, it is both beneficial and harmful. The only way to know the results is
to try it on my Aloe vera plants. Initially, I made approximately 2 percent MSG Solution by adding 20 grams of
MSG to 1,000 grams of water. I used six aloe vera plants, that I
planted a month ago for this experiment. These plants may be small, but they
have well-established roots already And can absorb well the nutrients in the soil. Three plants were watered with MSG solution
and the other three were just plain water. After two weeks, the plants
looked very similar to my eyes. I thought that two weeks would
have been enough to see results. It means that MSG did not affect these plants. So, I increased the solution to 4 percent by
adding 40 grams of MSG to 1,000 grams of water. Still, in the third week, the plants
showed no difference at all. The Plants with MSG and the plants
without MSG looked very similar. Finally, I added MSG directly to the three
plants, hoping to see different results. But in the fourth week. The
plants look very similar. Based on this experiment, MSG does
not affect these Aloe vera plants. On the other hand, maybe five weeks
is too short to see results. Or maybe, Somewhere in the process, I did it wrongly. I hope you learn something from this video. This is Danny. Thank you for watching.
