Aloe vera Chinensis is one of the two known   Varieties of Aloe vera. The other one
is the Aloe vera Barbadensis. This video will focus on the chinensis variety. Welcome to the Aloe vera Garden It is easy to spot the differences between
chinensis and barbadensis if you grow both. Otherwise, it is difficult for many
people to identify one from the other. The chinensis variety is prolific
when it comes to propagation. They start to produce pups even at a
very young age, and they produce a lot. Their leaves are usually fan-shaped when they are   Still young and will form into
a rosette as they get older. Also, their leaves are spotted. That is why
many people call it the spotted Aloe vera. However, these white spots
will disappear as they get   Older and when they are fully exposed to sunlight. Chinensis is also known as the orange
flowering Aloe vera because of its   Light orange flowers, while
the Barbadensis has yellow. Here in the Philippines, the chinensis
variety, popularly known as native Aloe   Vera is most common but least preferred
because of a few misconceptions. They don't grow big. This is not true. Given
the proper care, the chinensis can grow big   Just like the barbadensis and the leaves can
even be wider than the barbadensis variety. They are not edible. This is not
true. Just like the barbadensis variety,   The chinensis variety is also edible. A comparative study on Morpho-anatomical   Characteristics and Phytochemical
constituents showed they are similar. Phytochemical studies show
the presence of Alkaloids,   Flavonoids, saponins, and tannins in both species. Also, the Chinensis variety has two more
compounds that are not present in barbadensis. One of the compounds is useful in
treating heart conditions and the   Other exhibits antimicrobial
and antioxidant activities. The chinensis variety is widely farmed
in other Asian countries like Vietnam and   Indonesia for consumption,
cosmetics, and for export. I hope you learn something from this video.
